Even though I doubt anyone ever reads this thing, I'm just here with an update on the Hanshin chapter. It's about 1/2 the way completed. It's getting longer and more and more difficult to write. Blah.

OK... So my laptop's charger just broke, and thenmy laptop died. So I can now only write when I have an excuse worthy of stealing my mom's laptop... Though I only have one of my documents. It makes me sad.

So, I'm writing a new, extremely long one shot right now, about Acid Tokyo. I was totally inspired by the 3rd OVA, which I watched RAW despite that fact that I don't speak Japanese. It's sad to say that I've read the Tokyo Arc so much that I've got 90% of the lines memorized, so i didn't really need subs. *Coughs*.

Anyway, does anyone remember the warning Yuuko gave to the people of Acid Tokyo, about how they'd have to find a way to fix the Earth before their water ran out? Well, in this fic, Fay and Kurogane are from a different settlement, which has been destroyed by war, and Fay has a rather unique ability. He can turn the acid into ordinary, drinkable water.

Anyway, here's a preview of the fic, if anyone's interested.

The praying Mantis lunged at Kurogane, its two forceps aimed like daggers. “Chi,” Kurogane moved his right foot forward, shifting his weight so that he was completely balanced. “Ryujin,” he lifted the hilt of his sword, turning it until it was vertical, with the blade facing downward and out towards his enemy. “Enbu!”

A huge whirlwind of energy, though one much smaller than it had been a month ago, shot out in all directions, slicing the praying mantis into chunks of flesh that rained down around him. Kurogane panted, his shaky legs and arms threatening to give out after his display.

The rain continued to pour, turning the hard ground into puddle of mud and suppressing the dust pile that had surrounded Fay. Kurogane turned to his companion, shocked to see that his raincoat laid, torn and nearly destroyed, by his kneeling form. The water poured down his hair, collecting in the crevices formed by his nearly shredded shirt and pants, burning off any fabric it met if it hadn’t first touched Fay’s bare skin. Fay shivered and tilted his head back, gulping down the poison. He held his hands in front of him, cupped like a saucer. The Earth around his knees was solid and pulsing with life.

It was the most beautiful thing Kurogane had ever seen.

I hope you enjoy it!

So, I'm working on the Hanshin world chapter. I'm pretty happy with how it's coming out so far, though I'm simplifying it a bit just so that each chapter isn't freakishly long. I'm trying to fit plenty of little!Kuro and Fay flashbacks in while still progressing the story and introducing more of Sakura and Syaoran. It's harder than I expected, but worth it. As for the ending to this story, I don't want to carry it through the entire TRC story, mainly b/c I don't know how it ends yet, so I'm either going to simplify the plot, change it around completely, or end things at Acid Tokyo. I honestly don't know yet, as I didn't know whether the story was going to evolve into a multi-chapter fic or not at first.

Spoilers for the next chapter:

“Kuro-pon,” the two of them were sitting atop one of the many colorful clay roofs that bordered the bazaar, munching on fresh green apples. Juice dribbled down Fay’s chin, and he wiped it away messily, licking the sour substance off his fingers. Kurogane had merely rolled his eyes and chomped down on his own crisp treat, swishing the sour flavor around in his mouth before swallowing.

They were ten years old, at that moment in life when each day stretched on into forever.

“What?” Kurogane grumbled around a mouthful of apple. His father had pushed him out the door that morning, and in to the arms of his annoying ‘friend’, the blond boy whose smiles just didn’t seem quite right.

“What do you think being grown up feels like?” Fay had turned his face into the sun, and its gleaming light upon his hair made him radiant. Fay didn’t seem to know that though, and Kurogane wasn’t going to tell him.

“I dunno,” Kurogane shrugged, tossing his apple core somewhere behind him. He thought he heard a few chickens squawk, but that was their problem. “We’ll be bigger,” he paused, eyeing his shorter companion doubtfully. “Well, I will be,” he concluded.

Also, while I'm at it, for anyone who visits my lonesome LJ, which of the above three ideas do you like the most?
